Running with a partner

Hubby called from work and asked me to wait to run until he gets home so he can go with me. Guess we'll have to break out the reflective gear! LOL

They say exercising with a buddy makes us more likely to stick with it. But I often see exercise as
"me time." Time for me to be with myself. To reflect on my life. To do something just for me and no one else.

Still... I am a social creature. Running with a partner makes the miles go faster.

I am still struggling to control the late night munchies. I'm not sure what to do about it... but I might try some herbal tea next time.

Herbal tea is a great distraction for the late night munchies! You get the satisfaction of 'preparing' something. You know, putting the water on to boil and all of that fun. Then by the time it cools off and you drink it the munchies should be gone!

I think I'm going to take some of my own advice and try that tonight when the munchies hit!

How did running with your hubbie go?

I also like to sometimes have a cup of chicken broth - just OXO and hot water. No points, and it feels a bit like food. If I require actual chewing for my munchies, I add a few veggies. A green onion, or some green pepper.

If I get the midnight munchies I always have a tea first and by the time I finish it my hunger pains are usually gone. I also like to keep my hands busy with crafts or scrapbooking? I find that the busier I am throughout the day the less I feel the need to check out the fridge or snack cupboard!

ooohh, and I have heard that exercising with that significant other can also become an "exciting" event... hhhhmmm, I'm gonna go see if Phil wants to set up a home gym... ;)

I'm like you - I enjoy walking at lunch with my favorite coworkers, but sometimes really like walking alone, just me and my thoughts :) I've been drinking herbal tea at night too. Blogging and knitting also keep my hands busy so I can't eat :) Good luck!

Herbal tea is a wonderful distraction. I didn't know it until the other night the munchies were heading my way and I told the Mister that I didn't want to indulge. He said have some tea, so I did and I was surprised that the urge to munch was gone.

Herbal tea is great... and if its a sweet tooth your trying to pull, add some Stevia or Splenda. I have a whole cabinet of all different flavors... it works well!!

As for running with a partner... I guess it depends on if they run faster or slower then you..I like "my time" too... so I usually have to wait until everyone is in bed before I get to work out...

Have a great day and keep up the good work!!
