Flexibility

I've been struggling lately with flexibility--all it took was one stretching session at Tae Kwon Do to show me how inflexible I am.

Yoga is one of my favorite ways to stretch. However, I don't have the cash--or the time--to take a formal yoga class. As a result, I am mostly self-taught (through books and DVDs). Because of this, I try to stick to very basic poses.

I also try to Learn About Yoga Poses and Yoga Health Benefits through various sources, such as websites like Yogawiz.com. The website is full of information about yoga, including detailed descriptions of poses and animated illustrations.

By utilizing resources such as this, I can learn the proper technique and steps for new yoga poses, as well as the benefits of each pose.

I highly recommend yoga for anyone looking to increase both strength and flexibility. It's also a great way to relieve stress. My yoga time is like meditation for me. And though I'm not the "new age" type at all, I find that practicing yoga really does make me more aware of the connection between my body and mind.

I do all my Yoga at home with a DVD. I never considered it self-teaching, though, because the teacher is on the video. It is a good way to gain flexibility.
