Wind & Breakfast

I thought Spring was right around the corner... but the blustery cold winds have started blowing again.

And they totally blow. In every sense of the word.

I was looking forward to running around the neighborhood today, but it looks like the weather is going to force me onto the treadmill belt. Just like a rat in a cage.

Ok... obviously winter weather is started to affect my outlook on life!

On another note... you know how "experts" say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Well, since I am totally not a morning person, my breakfast is typically a few hours after I wake. I've tried to break this habit by eating less at night--and thus waking up hungry. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I always start my day with a cup of hot tea, and tea has a way of dulling my appetite.

Anyway, this morning I was not feeling hungry at all, but I tricked myself into eating by serving up lunch food: Minestrone soup. It worked. I ate a cup or so of it.

Sometimes you just gotta go the non-traditional route.

Minestrone soup is a great thing for breakfast! Way to think outside the diet box!
